Your hints stay private.
Privacy is part of how GlimmerDrop works. Here's what we collect, who can see it, and how to have it deleted. Last updated September 28, 2026.
The short version
- A GlimmerGetter never sees what their HintDroppers wrote.
- The person who picks your gift never sees your name, city, or address.
- Shipping addresses are seen only by the GlimmerDrop team and the retailer that ships your gift.
- We don't sell your information, and we only email you about GlimmerDrop.
What we collect

Who can see what
The GlimmerDrop team (Mike and Jenn) can see what's needed to run the service. A GlimmerGetter sees their own status and, after delivery, their note. A picker sees a short summary of hints written by our team with no names, plus the gift options. These rules are enforced by our database, not just by our app.
Services we use
- Supabase stores our data.
- Vercel hosts the website.
- Resend sends our emails.
- Anthropic (Claude) helps us tag products and match hints to gift ideas. We send it the hint answers, never your email or shipping address.
- Amazon receives the recipient's name, shipping address, and the picker's note (as the gift message) when we order a gift. We remove saved addresses from our Amazon account after shipping.
Hints are about someone else
DropHints answers describe a friend, the GlimmerGetter. Please share only what you'd be comfortable with them knowing you said, and never anything sensitive like health details. Allergies and dietary needs come from the GlimmerGetter themself, not from HintDroppers.
Cookies
We use only the cookies needed to keep you signed in when you have a GlimmerDrop account. No advertising or tracking cookies.
Where your data lives
Our database and website run in the United States.
Children
GlimmerDrop is for adults. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
How long we keep it
We keep pilot information while the pilot runs and for a short time after, so we can learn from it. Waitlist emails stay until you ask us to remove them or GlimmerDrop launches and you unsubscribe.
Your choices
Email hello@glimmerdrop.com to see, correct, or delete your information, or to leave the waitlist. We'll reply within a few days.
